forgot to update this and say that i've found a solution.

would anyone know how to mod castle crashers? what i'm wanting to do in particular is just reskin a character or two, since i was able to do practically the same in battleblock theater with custom heads. i'm just baffled at this point that there has been barely any modding for the game or guides for it, unless i'm unaware of the difficulty it takes to mod this game. any help is appreciated.
